The Aila Restaurant & Bar was an absolute gem, serving up dishes that put a smile on my face! Plus, I appreciated the room’s cleanliness and the short stroll to town by the river.
For £69, the ensuite felt more like a basic student digs. The sound insulation was a joke, and the tap water tasted stale. Not the best feel for a night’s stay!

The room was basic, lacking heating and tea-making facilities, with stained sheets noticeable only late at night. the shared kitchen required an extra charge, which was unexpected. The WiFi was unreliable. it cut out entirely on my first night, leading to an abrupt departure after the second night without a refund. Comfort was compromised by poor sound insulation and a hard bed.

i found the location ideal for strolling around with beautiful parks like forbury gardens just a short walk away, and the river views along the canal path were so peaceful and lovely to enjoy while walking around town.
